Jenna and Neil

Season Kick Off

Thank goodness we had a few months to recover from our 2008 wedding season. We were totally recharged and ready to rock for Jenna and Neil’s wedding! We knew this wedding was going to take everything we’ve got, plus some. With a wedding party of 30, (half of which were kids) and a huge family, we decided to bring in our colleague and group shot guru Jim Larson as a third shooter.

Jenna and Neil are just head over heels in love with each other. It’s been so much fun getting to know them. I look forward to seeing them around town and eating at their family restaurant, Philly Flash. (maybe they will create a veggie cheesesteak in my honor!?)

This wedding was totally intense for us. So much beauty and so little time. I could have spent the entire 8 hours and 2500 images I shot on just the girls, flowers and reception details.

We had our friends from Blue Sky Films, Tonya and Izzy, shooting alongside us all day. You can see Tonya peeking in with a Super8 camera on the right!

Jenna’s flowers were gorgeous! Our favorite florist, Joanne Galey, of English Rose Floral Design, did a spectacular job!

Let’s get this party started!

David caught Neil having a few quiet moments before the ceremony.

Jenna and Neil both went to St. Mary’s High School. They wanted to be photographed in front of the school immediately after the ceremony. After all the St. Mary’s weddings I’ve shot, no one has ever requested to be photographed there. Great idea….. I love this shot! In retrospect it feels like I had about two seconds alone with Jenna and Neil, but it was really a whopping 15 minutes. I guess that’s what I love about wedding photography; there are no do-overs. You just have to think quick and make the most of every second. You have 8 hours or less to tell the story of two people and what happens when their family and friends join together to celebrate the most important day of their lives. No wonder we are so totally fried on Sundays!!!

David captured one of the groomsmen helping Jenna with her hair after the ceremony. What a guy!

One of the group shots by our friend Jim Larson. Thanks Jim!

Sweet Sue’s Bakeshop did an amazing job on the cakes. Neil had a groom’s cake of Boston’s Fenway Park!

The Doug Segree Band rocked the house!

Jenna’s sister caught the bouquet, literally falling on her back after diving through the air for it! Great shot David!
