Jamie and Nate’s Engagement

Of all the things I do as a photographer and business owner, I have to say that shooting engagement sessions is at the tip of the fun scale. (The other end of the fun scale would probably be standing on a ladder in the sun on an August afternoon doing a group shot of 220 people) It’s just so nice to lighten the load in my camera bag and head out the door with no more than a meeting time and location for my bride and groom. Getting to know the B&G and learning about their lives is always so enlightening.

I was especially excited for Jamie and Nate’s session, since it was on Nate’s family farm in Chestertown on the Eastern Shore.  I just love the country life, and am such a sucker for dogs and farm animals!  Although I was not able to sneak a newborn lamb into my car at the end of the evening, Nate’s mom, Laura hooked me up with a dozen multicolored fresh eggs and a bag of alpaca manure for our garden, and an open invitation to return anytime with my family, which I plan to take her up on this summer!

Nate and Jamie’s wedding is this September at Brittland Manor in Chestertown. I was so thrilled to learn that they took all of my recommendations for vendors. David and I will be working with the dream team of Ken’s Creative Kitchen, Fiona’s Cakes, Amie Decker Beauty, Elegant Hair by Giselle, and Evan of MyDeejay! Can’t wait!

Colleen and Neil

We recently had the honor of photographing the second of the three beautiful Smyth girls, Colleen, at her wedding in Baltimore in April. David and I photographed her sister Meghan’s wedding many years ago, back in the olden days of film, and they celebrate 7 years very soon! Now Meghan and her husband Brian are expecting their third child, and their eldest daughter, Marion was the flowergirl.

Being a part of Colleen and Neil’s wedding was really amazing and truly an honor. As cliche as that sounds, it is what photographers strive for; to be valued by a family enough to be there to document all of their milestones! Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness for Colleen, Neil, and Nathan!

Carolyn Steinberg - …in so many of these pictures you really captured, at JUST the right moment, the raw emotions of each person….I’m always amazed at how you do that….it’s like you know how they are going to react before they do…there were lots of happy people at this wedding!….Carolyn SteinbergJune 10, 2011 – 8:46 AM

Summer Love Story

I just finished designing an album for one of our most fun and colorful couples, Kiersten & Ryan. I had so much fun designing an album that would reflect their style and personalities, as well as show off all of the great moments David and I captured at their wedding at the Oaks. They gave me carte blanc on the design, and didn’t want to change a thing. Gotta love that!

The Greene Family

Here are some of my favorite images from a family portrait I did last month. It is especially meaningful to have captured Sally & Georgie at their grandmother’s home on Spa Creek where their mom, Catherine, also grew up. My very favorite is the last one of Sally sitting on the dock with the boat and the crabpot in the background. So Annapolis! It was a challenge to time everything just right between our schedules, the blooming flowers, the afternoon thunderstorms and little Georgie’s naptime, but it all worked out, as it always does!

Lindsay and Sean

Lindsay & Sean’s wedding ended up being even more fun and beautiful that I had imagined. An intimate wedding and reception, at the lovely Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, filled with yummy hues of pink, latte & chocolate on a warm, sunny winter February day, a B&G just gushing with love and emotion….how do we get so lucky?! Thank you Lindsay & Sean for choosing us! We wish you all the best for a lifetime of happiness!

I loved Lindsay’s color scheme, and how everything came together on the wedding day. It was our first time working with Wicked Willow. I was completely obsessed with the flowers!

Lindsay is one lucky girl. Just look how much Sean loves his mother. I love this shot by David. You can just feel the love!

Lindsay & Sean were adamant against seeing each other before the ceremony, and it was totally worth it in this case. Sean’s reaction was priceless. He let out a very audible “Oh my God” as she came down the aisle, and then almost fell to pieces. I didn’t know whether to keep shooting,or pick his jaw up off the floor!
