Logan and his family were our very first clients at the new studio. We photographed him the day of his Christening last July, in the gown his dad wore as a baby. I can’t decide on my favorite portrait of him…I love the color because of his beautiful blue eyes, but the sepia just looks so timeless!

Mark and Stephanie brought Logan back to Annapolis last weekend for a session at Quiet Waters Park. He just turned one. I was so excited to see how he had changed from babyhood to boyhood in such a short time. He is in the pointing stage…in awe of everything in his little world.

It was so exciting to document Logan’s first day at the beach! He soaked it all up (no pun intended) with all of his senses and just loved the experience!

Meghan and Jeff

Eastern Shore Spring Fling

What a day! You could not have ordered a better spring day for an outdoor wedding in St. Michaels. So much awesomeness ensued in the course of the few hours we were hanging out and shooting with the Boyles, the Boyles and their family and friends. (Yes, both the bride and groom shared the last name Boyle even before the ceremony!) Wendy Hickok served as my assistant and did a super job of keeping me in sync!

And then there was Meghan and Jeff. What a couple! They were totally game for everything we wanted to do. We did so many different shoots with them, they could easily have called stop long before the last one, but they stuck it out and were happy the entire time. Thank you so much for indulging us with our many ideas for “looks!”

Wendy and I also loved working with the staff at The Oaks and Evan from MyDeejay.com. You all rock!

The amazing flowers were from Petals, a St. Michaels florist.

The Boyle ladies helped Meghan into her dress.

Look at those blue eyes!

How about this dapper fellow! Wendy did some amazing shots with the guys.

The ladies’ dresses were an incredible shade of blue that just popped.

After we took some family portraits, the Boyles asked if I could take this picture. They are saying “Go Team!” like sports teams do after a timeout. How fun! This family was so great. (Thanks especially to Meghan’s mom and dad for looking out for Wendy and me all day.)

This little cutie belonged to Meghan’s sister. Great shot, Wendy!

All through the ceremony these two were all giggles and smiles!

Meghan and Jeff are so in love!

Meghan’s other sister with her son. They kept calling him “little Paul Shaffer!”

I think I told Jeff to give me his best “GQ” pose. Then they both broke out in laughter. Love it!

I love the fact that they gave out a brew to guests as a favor! It reminds me of my own wedding, with our “Wedding Wheat!”

We Are One!

Today we celebrate one year of publishing a blog for Amy Raab Photography. Yay! We have had a blast in the last year with so many fun and beautiful couples. We’ve had more than our share of crazy moments and lots of incredible images! Thank you to everyone with whom we have worked and will work in the coming year. We are ready for another awesome season of amazing weddings, fun families, and cute kids!

Thanks to Jenna and Neil for this pic of us from their reception photo booth!

Mona and Rudy

An Intimate Washingtonian Affair

Mona and Rudy were highly recommended to us by their fellow Washingtonians, Dan and Colleen Turrentine, whose wedding we shot two years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by Mona’s email inquiry only two months before her wedding day! Booking a “last-minute” wedding is always exciting, especially in April in Washington. It was a dream wedding for us. We scheduled plenty of time to stroll through some of Washington’s most beautiful spots before returning to the Army and Navy Club for the family group shots. Mona and Rudy’s goal was to keep it simple, which they did, while adding a touch of pomp and circumstance with a few wardrobe changes and a grand intro by a huge New Orleans brass band! Thank you, Mona and Rudy (and Colleen and Dan) for choosing us to document your day!

This is Jo!

Our friend and favorite floral designer Joanne Galey came into the studio with her son Simon on her birthday for a “mommy and me” portrait session. It was so perfect that the daffodils were in full bloom and she was wearing her favorite color green. This color combo is totally hot for weddings this year. We’re hoping to get a kelly green and bright yellow wedding soon!

Kiersten Barnaba - Jo, you are absolutely adorable! Just as I pictured. Ryan and I are delighted to have you, Amy and Fiona on our wedding team!!! 08.29.09
