An Annapolis Destination Celebration

Amy and Doug were real troopers! Hurricane Hanna came roaring up the east coast on their wedding day, but both took it in stride. The ride over to St Mary’s Catholic Church was a bit wet, but everyone survived. We had a blast taking them over to the city dock, in the rain, and getting some fun photos! Thanks for making us feel at home and having fun with us!

The girls got ready at the Westin Annapolis, where we came back for pictures and a great party!

Catching some smooches on the city dock, in between Hanna’s downpour!

Monica got this really cool detail of Amy’s flowers.

One last kiss before the big party!

A Destination Wedding on the Chesapeake Bay

We waited a long time to finally meet Nicole and Andreas after they booked us sight unseen from Switzerland! How wonderful that their wedding day fell on such an unusually cool and crisp August day with lots of light, blue sky and water. Congratulations Nicole and Andreas, and come back and visit us for your maternity and/or family portraits!

The dressing room at Celebrations at the Bay was all windows with direct sun…yikes! I decided
not to fight it but to work with the dramatic lines and shadows.

While the ladies got ready, David captured the guys hanging out and passing the time taking pictures of each other!

I couldn’t wait to get Nicole out on the dock to take her dress for a spin in the breeze!

Moments later Andreas first laid eyes on his bride.

Weddingscapes florist did the flowers!

Nicole’s Aunt Becky created this “white candy bar” for the B&G.

It
was such a hit that Anthony from MyDeeJay.com was left with an empty dance floor until
everyone got their fill!

Gretchen and Matt’s engagement

September 1, 2008

Matt proposed to Gretchen while sailing on the Pintita in Baltimore. They thought it would be fun to commemorate the event by having their portrait session done on the same boat. I was all for it! It was such a treat for me to enjoy a beautiful September Sunday afternoon sailing around Annapolis, but even more…to get to know Matt and Gretchen and capture their passion for sailing and for each other. They have been an item since 6th grade, believe it or not, and are still madly in love with each other after all these years!

Matt and Gretchen are tieing the knot next May 16 at the CBBC. It is going to the quite the all-star event! Our friends Evan, Jo and Raquel will all be working with us on their big day. We can’t wait!

Stephanie - Those are gorgeous! I’m sure they’ll always treasure their pictures from such a unique engagement shoot.

Chelsea and Stuart

A Classy Annapolis Celebration

What a beautiful day we had with this couple! You could not have asked for a better sky and weather for a late August wedding. We started out at the bride’s parent’s house and at little park nearby with the guys. The Ryder family was incredible! The entire clan took a quick walk up to St Anne’s Church on Church Circle, in which Chelsea’s dad literally stopped traffic for his daughter to cross the street. After the ceremony, the lovely couple took a slow carriage ride around Annapolis on their way to the reception at the Annapolis Yacht Club. Some cocktails, dinner and lots of dancing later, they were ready for their sparkler-filled exit by water taxi. Fun!

The light in the Ryder house was awesome!

Chelsea’s nephew was too cute, this one was captured by my second, Jonathan.

Waiting for the moment in a side room at the church. I love the wooden cabinets behind her!

The sky and boats were perfect in the late evening sunset.

Chelsea’s grandfather looking super-dapper in his tux!

Jon and Kathleen

An Intimate St. Michaels Affair

Jon and Kathleen came home to Maryland from California to tie the knot among their family members and closest friends at the Inn at Perry Cabin. The day was unreal; cool and breezy and brimming with love and emotion. Jon and Kathleen were walking on air!

Sexy little bride shoes!

I had Kathleen wait for Jon under the weeping willow tree outside her
suite. It was so romantic as the leaves blew in the breeze, and
exciting for me to try some creative portraits. I think it was torture
for Kathleen, though, as she waited for Jon to come find her!

Love to Lola, Kathleen’s grandmother.

Lighting the unity candle before the blessing at dinner; great idea!

Serenading Mom during her special dance.

Riccinni - Beautiful photos of Kathleen and Jon’s wedding. I wish I could have been there, but the photos truly captured the moment.
